Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and coordinate activities of Manufacturing Engineers, (Process and Test).
  • Develop cost-efficient methods to manufacture assemblies and equipment.
  • Help meet production schedule.
  • Provide daily support to Manufacturing Production to reduce build & test times.
  • Direct and supervise Manufacturing Engineers (Process, ME, TE) in their day-to-day as well as short-term and long-term tasks.
  • Facilitate Performance and Merit reviews of assigned Manufacturing Engineers (Process, ME, TE).
  • Develop and assign goals and objectives that coincide with the set department goals, holding subordinates accountable for their performance.
  • Provide technical expertise to all areas of Production on all aspects of Manufacturing.
  • Investigate and resolve critical and/or repetitive manufacturing operating problems with particular emphasis on establishing process controls for defect free production and work with Manufacturing to meet FPY goals.
  • Interpret data and outline processes with Engineering and Manufacturing to adhere to customer specifications.
  • Consult with the appropriate departments to ensure proper processes are being executed during assembly, welding, test and shipment.
  • Interface with Design Engineering and NPI team to assure that new designs are producible to quality, cycle and cost objectives.
  • Research, justify and implement new manufacturing technologies to minimize cost and maximize productivity and quality.
  • Review the availability of specialized equipment and tooling and the associated costs of such.
  • Develop technical and economic justifications resulting in proposals for the implementation of new processes and capital equipment.
  • Evaluate the technical parameters and capabilities of equipment and suppliers.
  • Develop and maintain assembly and test method to improve Total Product Cycle Time, Reduce Cost of Quality, and improve Operational Efficiency.
  • Generate make vs. buy analyses.
  • Oversee Lean line implementation for all products and work with Industrial Engineer on layout design.
  • Define tool/equipment PM schedule and monitoring its implement, develop manufacturing.

  • Work with operations staff to determine and improve production capacity and load.
  • Able to lead teams in RCCA, Projects, PFMEA & SPC processes.
  • Ability to interface with Management team and Customers through discussions and presentations.
  • Select, Develop and evaluate personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the team.
  • Support annual equipment budgets plan; Make budgetary recommendations regarding.
  • and controls capital expenditures.

 

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Best manufacturing practices with PFMEA, SPC, data analysis and troubleshooting skills.
  • Able to lead diversified team members with ability to influence various functions and suppliers in achieving the objectives.
  • Proven Lean manufacturing background.
  • Excellent communication, project management and analytical skills are critical.

 

Educational/Certification Requirement:

  • Bachelor Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Electronics or Manufacturing Engineering is preferred/directly related experience may be considered.

 

Experience Requirement:

  • Above 7 years related experience, including 2 years management experience.
  • Exposure to semiconductor industry and/ or Mechatronic / Robotic background preferred.
  • Experience on setting up lean line will be very important.
  • Self-motivated and resourceful.
  • Capable of developing positive work relationship, a favorable work environment within the team and other functional group.
  • Good interpersonal, communication and presentation skill.
  • Able to perform any other task assigned by manager / supervisor.
  • Candidate with Six Sigma Knowledge is a plus.
